An Open Letter to All Americans

Dear proponents of religious liberties,

We are at a crucial point in our nation’s history and faith. Many Americans are unaware of the history of the Christian faith in the United States and the liberties afforded Christians by our founding fathers. Today’s American youth are being taught history with important facts being left out and the media is having a staggering effect on America’s understanding of religion and government. Is the phrase “separation of church and state” in the United States Constitution?

If you answered “yes,” you are not alone. Due to the media’s influence and the influence of revisionist historians, almost two-thirds of Americans believe that this phrase is found in the U.S. Constitution. The truth is, none of these words are found in the First Amendment. Of the 55 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 52 were committed Christians. That fact is not taught in history today.

President Adams stated, “The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: It connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.” Today, this quote will not be found in any textbook used to teach in any public school. Likewise, you will not find the following resolution of Congress from 1782 in any textbook used in public school: “The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.”

James Madison, the primary author of the United States Constitution, said: “We have staked the whole future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments.” Today, the Ten Commandments have been removed from schools, from courts, and from other public areas.

Day by day, our religious liberties are being taken away. If Christians do nothing, our religious liberties will continue to erode. Now is the time to act. Our vision at Awaken America is to bring the truth back to America by educating Americans of our Christian heritage, informing them about what’s taking place in America today, and what individuals like you are able to do to “Take America Back.” If you are interested in helping preserve and restore religious liberties afforded us by our founding fathers, we need your help in telling others.
